Egnyte provides administrators with a powerful centralized dashboard to manage their account. From the Web control panel, administrators are able to provision internal and external users, enforce account-wide policies, and manage permissions and authentication.
Egnyte offers two distinct classes of users: Power Users and Standard Users. Power Users are typically employees of the company and have access to the full range of features offered by Egnyte. Power Users can access files using a Web browser, map drive, FTP, and mobile apps. To enable collaboration with business partners and clients, Egnyte offers administrators the ability to create Standard Users. Standard Users are reserved for business partners and have access to shared folders through Web browsers and mobile apps.
Administrators can create user accounts, modify passwords and deactivate user accounts through the integration with Active Directory (AD) or via the UI (individual or bulk add/edit). Administrators can also assign and revoke permissions on folders by importing permissions from existing file shares or by manually assigning it via the Web UI.
Egnyte provides account-wide administrative controls to enforce policies and establish account guidelines.
Large organizations can have multiple business units and subsidiaries, each with its own data store. With Egnyte, IT can centrally manage and monitor data shares across any number of Egnyte domains belonging to the parent organization. Multiple Entity Management enables users and admins to manage file access across multiple entities (teams, offices, brands, domains, etc.) without having to switch accounts.
