Egnyte for Google Docs is Now Live!

It’s a journey that started two years ago, and today has taken a big step forward. Announcing Egnyte’s new Google Docs integration is now generally available to all Egnyte and Google customers. This is one more stop in our quest to build a tight integration not just with Google’s popular collaborative document editors, but with GSuite’s entire range of productivity tools.Over the past several months, we launched an integration with Google Hangouts Chat, as well as with Gmail. These integrations enable G Suite users to share and save Egnyte managed files without ever leaving the Google services’ user interface. However, with this new Egnyte for Google Docs integration we’ve taken an even bigger step.From now on, when you use the integration, your Google Docs files will be stored and managed by Egnyte. This means you’ll be able to take advantage of Egnyte’s robust permission model, enhanced security features and ensure compliance with industry regulations, while also enjoying Google Docs’ impressive collaboration capabilities. And there’s more. Since Google Docs will now reside in Egnyte actions on these files will be reflected in Egnyte audit reports, and the files will be subject to version controls and retention policies.
