Founding Partner of Apogee Venture Group Joins Leading Enterprise Hybrid Cloud File Sharing Provider’s Board of Directors

Egnyte, the leading provider of hybrid cloud file server solutions, announced today that Todd Rulon-Miller has joined its board of directors as of February 2012. Prior to taking on this advisory role at Egnyte, Rulon-Miller was a founding partner at Apogee Venture Group and senior vice president at Netscape.

Lending his experience and expertise, Rulon-Miller will be working hand-in-hand with Egnyte’s existing board members including Egnyte CEO Vineet Jain, Dave Barrett, Matt Murphy and Mike Maples.

“It’s a thrilling time for businesses as the cloud, and more importantly hybrid cloud, grows exponentially and begins to deliver on the promise of a tangible ROI,” said Todd Rulon-Miller. “It’s critical to understand the pain points of an enterprise, as well as the use cases for both IT and end users. By joining the Egnyte team, I hope to leverage my enterprise experiences to help guide the company during this phase of rapid growth.”

Todd Rulon-Miller is a founding partner of Apogee Venture Group, an early stage venture investment and consulting firm, and a former senior vice president of worldwide sales and services at Netscape Communications. At Netscape, Todd built the company’s sales team to 800 employees operating in more than 30 countries and increased revenue to more than $600 million. During his tenure, in August 1995, Netscape completed the then-most-successful initial public offering on the NASDAQ.

Prior to his role at Netscape, Todd served in executive roles at First Data Resources, IBM, NeXT, Inc., Software Alliance and Tandem Computers. Additionally he has served on the Board of Directors of Active software; Epiphany; and Oblix Software (Purchased by Oracle Corporation). Currently, Rulon-Miller serves on the Board of Crowd Science, Aerohive and Symplified and contributes to the Advisory Boards of Zuora and Appcelerator. Todd holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
