The Egnyte Customer Summit had a special meaning this year as we continue our 10th anniversary celebration. The CIOs participating this time around, from some of Egnyte’s top customers worldwide, were gathered at the San Francisco Marriott Union Square for two days of collaboration magic and an evening of revelry. Conversations thrived as attendees listened to and engaged with speakers…and one another.

Some attendee perspectives:
“CIO Strategy – IT is evolving at a fast pace, we as leaders need to as well so it is always good to hear other perspectives on the matter.”

“Very useful event for me. Made it very clear to me we need to better leverage the investment that was made a few years back particularly as we think about greater use of the cloud and the collaboration roadmap.”

“It was good to see [Egnyte’s] roadmaps and understand what Egnyte’s priorities are.”

Below are the Top 5 Takeaways from this years event:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Dave Elkington from InsideSales.com, a platform providing sales acceleration with AI, was a hit with his dynamic personality and expertise into the history and future potential of artificial intelligence in businesses.

Competing for the star of the event was the surprise reveal of a LIVE (Yes, live. aka. we’re actually doing it, not just talking about it!) demo of our upcoming artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities at the Egnyte@10 event. Can insider breaches be prevented by detecting abnormal user behavior? Can your content suggest with whom you should collaborate? We say YES!

2. Security
Protecting sensitive content across many apps and repositories on-prem and in the cloud is a challenge for businesses of all size. To protect intellectual property or meet regulations, Isabelle Guis, Egnyte Chief Strategy Officer, shared deep insights into how Egnyte Protect can help IT leaders identify vulnerabilities before they become a problem and get instant alerts when data breaches happen.

3. Strategy and Vision
Some of the most engaging sessions revolved around Egnyte’s vision, strategy, integrations, and product roadmaps that allowed attendees to provide their input on organizational needs and take notes on the latest features and use cases. The amount of peer-to-peer idea-sharing that happened here blew everyone away and was considered by most attendees as the event’s highlight, according to the post-event survey. It turns out, customers like when their vendors listen to them! Who would have thought!?

4. Egnyte Partners Rule
Egnyte’s rich ecosystem of partners never fail to amaze. Facebook taught us how to modernize the workplace with social collaboration. Freshworks dazzled attendees with fresh perspectives (pun intended) on IT’s role in employee support. Netmail explained how the cloud has transformed the eDiscovery landscape. And although business intelligence can be intimidating, Microsoft enchanted us with the wonders of this powerful tool.

5. Egnyte Knows How to Party!
Egnyte@10 – Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow
To cap off the event, we opened up the venue to more Egnyte customers, partners, media, analysts, investors, and employees for an evening bash on the 30th floor equipped with an expansive view of the San Francisco skyline…and no fog!

The David Jacobs-Strain Band jammed all night with original music including a slack guitar, harmonica, and soulfully creative lyrics.

We celebrated the past 10 years with a look at the milestones, but also an enthusiastic glimpse into the future. The star of the show was the short video showing the potential of Egnyte Protect.

Couldn’t be there? No sweat, just join us next year!
