Egnyte Officially Expands Global Footprint to Include India

Egnyte is pleased to announce the opening of Egnyte Info India Private Limited -- a move that will help attract top talent and enhance the company’s ability to serve its customers at scale in the coming years.

Egnyte already has a presence in India, but this initiative will dramatically increase the commitment there. The company is aggressively hiring engineers and product teams to support core infrastructure and expand our content governance capabilities. Ultimately, this will help fast track development and meet an aggressive road map to support our customers through our platform and remain the leader in content security and governance.

Our direct contractors in India are now full-time employees, with all the corresponding benefits, and the company plans to increase hiring as the year continues. Due to COVID-19, all Egnyte India Info India Private Limited employees will work remotely as we evaluate potential work options once restrictions are lifted.

Sachin Shetty is a distinguished engineer at Egnyte. He joined the company in the U.S. years ago before relocating to India to work remotely, even though the concept was virtually unheard of there at the time. He’s seen the growth of a small but core team thanks to a culture that was ahead of the curve with its “work from anywhere” hiring.

“We built a product that scaled to 16,000 customers, billions of requests per day and several petabytes of customer data,” Shetty said. “Despite being a fast-growing startup, our attrition rate was near-zero because of our culture.”

Egnyte already has engineering teams in Silicon Valley and Poland, and this strategic move is intended to augment those teams to meet the surging demand for content security and governance in the new hybrid workforce. We also continue to hire in Poland as we seek to have the necessary staffing in place to scale and meet the needs of our rapidly growing customer base.

Egnyte continues to see record expansion, growing 40 percent year over year in the most recent quarter. In addition to establishing an official presence in India, Egnyte plans to open a new sales office in Utah later this year, adding to existing locations in the U.S. and U.K.
