Customize Egnyte with Your Own Apps

Egnyte is excited to announce the ability for our customers to build custom apps for their domains. Now our customers can create apps with tailored actions and workflows that can help increase efficiencies and boost productivity. Create your own application that uses Egnyte’s public API, giving you a full set of enterprise features while helping to comply with industry standards like HIPAA and FINRA to ensure you are enterprise-ready on day one.

Egnyte’s APIs allow you to quickly and effectively build customized apps to solve your unique business needs. Customize your users’ experience by creating actions directly in the Egnyte UI using our context menus. You can now:

  • Add your own items into the context menu
  • Store them in the app store
  • Let individuals or groups use these

Here are a few examples for building custom apps with Egnyte’s public APIs:

  • Send files/folders to different applications
  • Move files to other places in Egnyte
  • Set a folder to have specific permissions
  • Create a certain folder structure

To get started: as an admin, go to your Apps & Integrations page then scroll down to the bottom and click on Create Custom App.

Egnyte’s Public APIs are available to businesses that want to build applications or integrations with their Egnyte domain at no additional cost. To learn more, visit https://developers.egnyte.com/ and our Helpdesk page
