CEO Reflections

2010 is coming to a close and we already have plans that are being executed for 2011. Even though it is the holiday season, there is no time for us to pause and take a rest. There is a constant push to build new features, address issues with existing features, stay ahead of existing competition, watch out for new companies, and most importantly, stay abreast of emerging trends. The last point is the most challenging since being a relatively small company, we have tovery selectively place bets on what emerging technology/trend will become mainstream.Lately, it seems that words like “social networks”, “crowd sourcing”, “viral networks” - seem to be in the lexicon of most of us. These words are evolving into ideas that somehow (for some of these, I don’t know how) need to reflect into all kinds of software solutions, including Egnyte. We have been careful to not have things like these sway us from our mission to provide a simple, not simplistic, cloud storage solution for businesses. Based on customer adoption in 2010, I am please to share that we seem to be doing a lot of things right. Needless to say, there is still a significant number of areas where Egnyte needs to improve. I and my team are working hard to address those as 2011 starts gathering momentum.
