Adolfson & Peterson Construction Chooses Egnyte Connect for Firm–Wide Collaboration

Boosting Productivity for the Construction Firm’s $800M+ in Annual Revenue

Mountain View, CA. – November 17, 2016

Egnyte, the leading cloud provider of smart content collaboration and governance for the enterprise, today announced Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) has selected Egnyte Connect as their company–wide content collaboration solution. Egnyte Connect provides AP secure, uninterrupted access to all of their content and empowers their employees to easily collaborate, internally and externally, via any preferred business application on any device.

AP is a commercial construction firm with offices throughout the United States and annual revenue of over $800M nationwide, which has earned them recognition by ENR as one of the Top 100 Global Contractors. They have built some of the most noteworthy commercial properties in the United States, including hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, and more.

“We have maintained a competitive advantage for over 70 years by pairing our deep industry experience with the best technologies on the market, and Egnyte Connect is one of those technologies,” said Chad Herrgott, CIO at AP. “Egnyte Connect’s hybrid solution provides our entire organization fast, secure access to their files which enables efficient collaboration and optimizes productivity, whether they are in the field, at a remote job site with limited connectivity or working locally at our HQ.”

AP chose to deploy Egnyte company–wide in order to help the company:

Create Business Continuity – AP needed a way to create efficient access to internal file shares, which is often hard to do for construction workers who are out in the field. With Egnyte Connect’s hybrid architecture, AP was able to deploy NAS devices on 90% of their jobsites to create fast, local access to their blueprints and project files.

Save Time & Money – When working on projects, architects, project managers and construction workers are continually updating a variety of large files, like BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings, which can create latency issues and ultimately cost time and money. Egnyte Connect uses delta sync, which only syncs the changes made to the documents, to reduce delays caused by the uploading and synchronization of these large files.

Collaborate Externally – AP works with thousands of external vendors and contractors when completing projects, and needs an efficient, secure way to share contracts, invoices, etc. Egnyte Connect allows external parties to upload and download these files while IT maintains full visibility and control, protecting all of the confidential information being shared inside and outside of the organization.

Increase Productivity – Egnyte Connect has deep integrations with a number of business applications, like Office 365, and industry-specific productivity applications, like Bluebeam, empowering AP employees to work the way they want with the tools they prefer.

For AP, the integration between Egnyte Connect and Microsoft Office 365 is vital to their everyday business. Employees are able to take advantage of the productivity tools inside the Office 365 suite, like Word and Excel, and save all their work back to Egnyte Connect, creating a centralized environment that IT can monitor and control.

“Egnyte has experienced a tremendous amount of success in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), learning from each individual deployment along the way,” said Rajesh Ram, co–founder and chief customer officer at Egnyte. “With AP, we were able to build out a solution for them that combined the strength of Egnyte Connect’s hybrid architecture and security features, with the productivity benefits of Office 365, which they were already using. Bringing these two solutions together has proven to be a powerful combination that provides a tremendous amount of value for their organization on a daily basis.”

Egnyte works with the leading third–party AEC–focused applications, including Bluebeam, PlanGrid, BluVue, FotoIN, Building Connected, and more to help customers manage all aspects of their projects from bidding to completion. Egnyte has built custom solutions for a number of the leading AEC firms, including Balfour Beatty, Tutor Perini Corporation, Devcon, PCL Construction, and more.
