Egnyte Update: Keep your mobile files secure
Simple for users, secure for business
Egnyte Newsletter: Control where your files are stored

This edition of Egnyte Update is focused around BYOD and device management. Don't miss our Tips & Tricks section highlighting upcoming mobile product features.

An increasingly large number of employees are bringing their own devices into the corporate environment and want to use these devices to work from wherever they are. Recent analyst reports prove out this trend: a recent Gartner report states that by 2017, half of employers will require employees to supply their own device for work purposes. Industry analyst firm Ovum Research found that over 57.1% of all full-time employees use a personal device to access corporate data.

But this Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend has also raised serious security concerns with respect to controlling where corporate data resides and who has access to it. That's why we are so excited about our new Device Control package. Released last month, it provides customers with all the tools they need to manage mobile and laptop data, security and access, or can work in conjunction with device management tools to manage the full spectrum of applications and data.

Egnyte CMO Barry Phillips details these new features in his blog post. You can view the Gartner report here and the Ovum report here.

Report from the trenches"Egnyte enables my team to do their job efficiently and makes my job easier. I know my files are secure because I have complete visibility and auditing into who is accessing which files, and can ensure the right people are viewing the right files. Egnyte was easy to roll out and no training was needed for my staff and contractors to be up and running in a day.

While Egnyte has not literally saved my life, it has saved me enormous time, stress, and money by providing a reliable cloud based hybrid service that works quietly in the background."
