Report from the trenches"We would be dead in the water without Egnyte. I am the system administrator and it's mainly my job to keep the data flowing throughout the company. What 20|20 does is simple: we provide facilities and technology for clients who wish to conduct qualitative research studies.

Some clients ask that we use Dropbox, Box or YouSendIt, but let's be honest, I have no way of guaranteeing the security of that data on their systems. Everyone has a Dropbox account and every time someone buys an Android phone a new one is activated. The system isn't safe, and when a client wants to send us database records containing hundreds or thousands of names that fit their studies, along with tons of personal information, we get paid to ensure that data doesn't get leaked. To do that, we rely on Egnyte, and it's never failed."

New Permission Levels
More granular permissions are on the way. Large organizations will be able to separate data access from managing permissions on a folder. The new FULL permission will allow read, write, delete access but only an OWNER will manage who has access to the folder.
