Egnyte App Review

Egnyte is one of the best business apps available for both the iPhone and iPad devices and we are sure that once you try this app, you won’t be able to live without it. Essentially, this application allows you to access files on your iPhone/iPad devices as well as share them and store them. There are a lot of apps in this market at the moment, the most notable similar app being Dropbox. However, Egnyte is free for both the iPhone and iPad devices whereas a lot of the other similar apps out there are not. It should be noted that you do have to have a paid account with Egnyte to use the free apps though.

Let’s start off by looking at the features of the Egnyte application. The main feature as already mentioned is the way that you can access files from your iPhone device from anywhere, so long as you have a 3G or Wi-Fi connection of course. There are a few other things you can do as well however that really take this app to the next level. For example, you can share any of the files that you have access to via email using links embedded in the email. You can also attach files to the email securely. Another cool feature is the way that you can actually store files that you are sharing on your iPhone so that you can access them when you don’t have access to the internet. This is a great feature for those business people that are constantly travelling and therefore without internet access quite a lot of the time and a feature that really comes into its own on the iPad version of the app.You can use the Egnyte application in order to sync files with any computer, network storage device or even virtual machine. If you have a lot of files being shared, then finding the one that you require isn’t a problem at all as there is a fantastic, built in search function within the app. You can also edit and save documents with ease and even create fresh documents to be shared, right from your iPhone or iPad device.Perhaps one of the coolest, and most useful features of Egynte is the way that you can collaborate with others on a document/file. For example, you can easily add annotations to documents and set up notifications that alert other people sharing the document of changes. A very neat feature indeed. The feature set is the same on both the iPad and iPhone version of the app and the only difference is that the interface is a little different. The app works extremely well on the large screen of the iPad and it is much easier to work with documents than on the iPhone. However ,this doesn’t mean that the iPhone interface isn’t slick as well; there are just advantages of a large screen.Egnyte has won multiple awards from a number of magazines and tech-based organisations and it is easy to see why. The app is simple, useful and best of all, completely free (remember you need a paid account with the Egnyte file storage company however). You can download the app here.AppPicker, June 2, 2012Click here to read the original article
