IT Infrastructure: 16 Hot Companies Running Under the Radar

As a matter of routine, eWEEK reporters and editors talk to companies and analysts virtually every day. As a result, we often come across a lot of fresh new ideas — or at least new takes — on conventional IT, whether it’s in the data center, on your desk or in your pocket. This slide show highlights a number of companies that at least one eWEEK reporter sees as pushing the bar higher in several different markets. The markets take in a wide range of current IT, including hot topics such as virtual desktop infrastructure, cloud storage, data center management, virtual databases, cloud-based e-mail, data center monitoring and secure file transfer. You may have heard of some of these companies; others you may not know about. But, in general, these are not household-name IT providers. We have listed them in no particular order. We certainly know there are other great new companies out there. If you think we’ve left somebody out, be sure to e-mail us, and we’ll consider your suggestions for a future slide show.
