Egnyte provides numerous powerful features to help you implement and manage user accounts which map to your immediate and future business needs. You can create accounts for your employees and your business partners (customers, suppliers, etc.), manage access rights and create folders for special project teams or your customers to use with ease.
Egnyte provides two distinct classes of users: Power Users and Standard Users. Power Users are typically employees of your company and as such, have access to the full range of features offered by Egnyte. Power Users can access the Egnyte Cloud File Server using a Web browser or from a mapped drive on their computer. And if you enable the optional Egnyte Local Cloud for your account, Power Users can install the Local Cloud and work offline from their computer. Power Users also have access to the Egnyte application for automatic computer backup to the Cloud File Server.

Egnyte also allows you to easily collaborate with business partners by providing a second type of user – Standard Users. Standard Users can access select files using a browser, but do not have the ability to map a drive to the Cloud File Server, nor can they use the Egnyte automated computer backup feature.
Administrators are granted complete control over all user accounts. Administrators can create user accounts, easily modify passwords and deactivate user accounts as needed (for example, when an employee leaves the company). Administrators can also assign and revoke permissions on folders.
Egnyte also lets you bring together Power Users and Standard Users into Groups. You can establish groups based on project or department and use folder permissions to quickly and easily build out access rights for large collaborative efforts.
