Download Multiple Files Easily
To date, Egnyte provided an Export action to download entire folders or multiple files in one compressed zip file.Based on customer requests, we have added the capability to download multiple files or folders in real-time. You can now download up to 50 files or files adding up to 5MB in size.

This download control will sequentially download files, providing detailed status on % completion and time remaining to download.

Note: This download control requires Java to be installed on your computer.If Java installation has a problem on your computer, you can fall back to the existing zip file download by clicking the link at the bottom of the Multi-File download window.

Trash Notification Controls
Any files deleted by users are deposited in the Trash folder within your account.The Trash folder on your account is emptied at a frequency defined within your Account settings.Egnyte now sends out an email notification to the account administrator providing a summary of the number of files that will be deleted from the trash folder the next day.You can optionally turn off this notification.

Mapped Drive Speed
Users, particularly on Windows, should find the folder browsing speeds faster from the mapped desktop drive.

Control Number of File Versions
By default, Egnyte creates versions as you modify files.Now, you can restrict the number of versions retained on your account by setting the version policy within your account settings. The default setting is set to 3.

Search Improvements
We have made some improvements on the search side, which will provide richer and more robust indexing across Office 2007 documents as well (xlsx, pptx, docx).

Local Cloud
A new version of Local Cloud has been released (5.1.5) that has a completely redesigned UI, provides ease of accessing the local cloud from desktop shortcuts, better communication when the synchronization happens, improved error reporting and core back-end server architecture improvements. We encourage our users to upgrade to this version.

Change in Menu Layout
The Action Menu has been completely redesigned and will appear as a horizontal menu, rather than as is currently - a vertical menu on the right.

iPhone and iPad App
We have bowed to our customer requests and are finally releasing a true app on the iPhone and iPad. The current web based iPhone app will continue to be supported. With the app, users can upload files, search for files and also mark specific files for offline access. If these files are modified using third party applications like Readdledocs, Egnyte will synchronize these changes to the Cloud File Server.
